A mixture of flamenco guitar, ambient jazz, and world music, Solis, the debut solo release from guitarist, composer and arranger Eddie Paton stimulates the senses. This is a recording that arouses positive sensations from the tingling riffs of "Cafe Salsa" to the meditative swells of "Del Mar." Comprised of original works and a cover of The Police's hit single "Message In A Bottle," Solis is filled with intricate tooling that builds the tracks landscape and depth.

The hypnotic and rhythmic strokes of Paton's guitar strings exude charisma across "Marisol," creating melodic patterns that dazzle the listener then whisk one away along the smooth sails of "At Paradiso."   The dreamy texture of Paton's guitar strings exhibit a serenity that elicits peace of mind in the listener. Switching gears, the electronica elements of "In The Mood" add intricate tooling that boosts Paton's guitar riffs, providing depth to the track.

The bossa nova rhythm of "Los Feliz" gently harnesses the ambient soundscapes, transitioning into the Latin folk tempo of the title track, wheedling a soft tangoesque beating.  The dulcet sensations rippling through the music engulfs the listener in sweet bliss.  Revving up the tempo to a frenzied dervish-like cadence, Paton's reimagination of The Police's hit song "Message In A Bottle" brings out the warm hues of the Latin flare that he instills into the score.  His tweaking of the tune draws out a new beauty in the melodic motifs.

Paton's debut effort puts the best in him forward.  Facets of Latin music, electronica, and folk come together on his recording, culminating into a gorgeous melting pot of various music cultures. Paton's recording stirs positive sensations from start to finish.
