After hours jazz with a candlelight ambience is what vocalist Brad Schrader offers for his 2025 self-released LateNights, bringing together "a cross-section of standards – and not-so-standards – with fresh arrangements to make things easy and interesting. Our superb band of jazz veterans builds a chill groove under and around the vocals, drawing the listener in to the track,” explains Schrader in the press release.  Classic jazz at its most amicable pipes through the tracks, creating a fireside atmosphere through "I Wish I Knew" and transitioning into a light, swinging rhythm along "It's Alright with Me." a signature piece by Cole Porter.  His sensitive articulation is reminiscent of vocalist Mark Winkler, intimating thoughts and images to the listener with poignant pauses and emotive vocal inflections.   His interpretation of the Great American Songbook staples illustrates his savvy as a crooner and balladeer, most notable in the smooth glide of his vocals massaging "Skylark," shaping its flight and rendering its story of longing for love.  Schrader aims to bring audiences back in time to the delicacy of a golden age in jazz but his interpretations more likely launch them forward into living in the present day with hope in one's heart and a bright outlook in one's mind, giving his audience a pleasing time with him.
