Pianist and music stylist Bijan Taghavi is fluent in the language of classical piano, displaying a penchant for lithesome expressions and charting engaging expeditions throughout his 2026 effort Cactus Sessions.  A collection of covers, the album is a testament to the spellbinding components of jazz standards.  As a solo pianist, he single-handedly charts the melodic and harmonic forms, in addition to honing the rhythm, range, textures, and chord dynamics, holding audiences engulfed in the movements and transitions. The one-man performance is starkly transparent, amplifying every note and twists in the phrasing.
