Roaring '20s ragtime, Tinpan Alley romps, Vaudeville hootenannies, and Prohibition Era hot jazzz merge together on Stomp Your Stuff, the 2026 recording from the Oliver-Smith Incomparables.  Reimagining nostalgic material from the Chicago-based Melrose Brothers publishing catalog, and channeling the chutzpah of vintage Jelly Roll Morton, pianist Andrew Oliver and drummer Hal Smith are joined by Colin Hancock on coronet and alto sax, Andy Schumm on clarinet and cornet, T.J.  Müller on trombone, cornet and vocals, Jacob Alspach on guitar and banjo, and Dan Anderson on string bass and tuba, forming the 7-piece ensemble the Incomparables. Together, they induce a party atmosphere, curating some of the best traits of Americana-inspired, speakeasy jazz.  From its cheerful syncopated grooves to its boisterous brassy howls and shuffling strumming strings, the 7-piece ensemble enlivens the room with energizing dynamics and jovial aesthetics.  Mingling nuggets of New York City-based blues, Chicago-hewn swing, New Orleans-tinged ragtime, and Tennessee-rafted Dixieland, the music morphs into a jamboree setting.  From the Charleston-kick stride of "Original Chinese Blues" to the burlesque swagger of "Bucktown Blues," and the waltzing pattern of "Daddy Do," the melodic motifs kettle a vibrant and uplifting spirit.  “Honey Babe” slows the pace to a strolling strut, featuring Müller’s mint julep-hued vocals and the smooth, jaunty piano vamps of Oliver.  An integration of contemporary and old-fashioned, the Incomparables bring the compositions of the Roaring ''20s into the modern age.
